1. The option of thyroid lobectomy as initial therapy for thyroid cancer.
2. The use of preoperative neck imaging to optimize the completeness of the initial surgery.
3. The selective use of radioactive iodine (RAI) for remnant ablation, adjuvant treatment, or treatment of known persistent or recurrent disease.
