Target Audience

This 90-minute (approximately) course contains information of value to physicians in nuclear medicine, radiology, oncology, and urology using Axumin® (fluciclovine F 18), a radioactive diagnostic agent indicated for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging in men with suspected prostate cancer recurrence based on elevated blood prostate specific antigen (PSA) levels following prior treatment.  This course is intended for physicians, nuclear medicine technologists, and any professionals in the nuclear medicine and related fields.

NOTE:  At the end of each case presentation, the narrator instructs the viewer to go to the DICOM case; the DICOM cases will be available soon!


At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:

  1. Describe the mechanism of action of fluciclovine F 18
  2. Identify the normal biodistribution in these scans
  3. Understand expected physiologic uptake patterns, incidental findings and normal variants
  4. Interpret fluciclovine F 18 PET/CT scans

Continuing Education Credit Information

This course does not offer continuing education credits.  Upon successful completion of the assessment, participants will receive a certificate of training.
