Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:
  1. Explain mechanism of neuroblastoma uptake of MIBG and list physiologic sites of uptake. 
  2. List some acute and late toxicities of 131I-MIBG therapy. 
  3. Identify the radiation safety precautions necessary with 131I-MIBG therapy. 
  4. List recommended patient characteristics for 131I-MIBG therapy (age, sites of disease, stage, treatment history etc)
